Early Life
Rohit Gurunath Sharma was born on 30 April 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. He was raised in a modest family, with his father, Gurunath Sharma, working in a transport company and his mother, Purnima Sharma, being a homemaker.
He developed an interest in cricket at a young age and joined a local cricket camp in 1999 under coach Dinesh Lad, who recognized his exceptional talent. Initially an off-spinner, Rohit soon focused on batting and quickly became one of Mumbai's brightest young prospects.
Domestic Career
Rohit represented Mumbai in domestic cricket and impressed with his elegant stroke play and composure under pressure. His performances in the Ranji Trophy and Deodhar Trophy earned him a place in the Indian squad.
